Handfasting

October 1993:
From the moment I seen you, I knew you and I knew as well tht we were to be one.
And now, we have come to a milestone in our journey as one, a decade of love.
My obligations of the past decade have been completed, a new journey to begin
this day.
We have indeed come a long way, you and I hand in hand. In todays environment
of short lived relationships we have thus far stood the test of time. We have
come through many a trial and adeversity, and these have only made our bonds
stronger. We have had laughter and joy as well, this has given us hope and
pleasure that as one we have shared.
Before you my past is an open book, my future is a book to be written by your
tender hand. I stand before you, a man still enchanted at the sound of his lay
fair's voice, touch, smile and being. Your form I find graceful, within you I
see all potential - The Lady, The Queen of the Moon and of my nights, and I be
your consort. Fortunate an I that we are one.
Today, I stand before you, a company of friends and before the Lord and Lady,
The Gods of Old. I lay my heart before you, my hand extended unto you - accept
it if you will. I have given unto you all that I am of my own free will, these
same things do I pledge untoyou: my honesty, my love, my unfailing faith. These
things do I pledge unto you for as long as we both shall love. So mote it be.
For as the Lord and Lady are one, so shall we be; for it is spoken, 'as above
so below'. So shall I be a consort unto you: to be there when youneed me, to
strengthen you, to serve you, to fulfill your desire, to comfort you, to be
neither behind nor before you but as your equal in this realm.
